A Counter Sales Associate is responsible for attending customers at the sales counter, understanding their needs, and providing appropriate product information to drive sales. The role focuses on delivering excellent customer service, handling billing, and maintaining an organized sales area.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet customers and assist them with product selection at the sales counter.
- Explain product features, prices, offers, and promotions clearly.
- Generate bills, handle cash/card/UPI payments, and issue receipts.
- Maintain cleanliness and proper display of products at the counter.
- Monitor stock availability and inform the store team about low inventory.
- Handle customer queries, complaints, and returns professionally.
- Ensure accuracy in billing and cash handling at all times.
- Support store sales targets and promotional activities.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Intermediate / Bachelor’s degree in any discipline.
- Good communication and customer-handling skills.
- Basic computer knowledge and familiarity with POS systems.
- Honest, polite, and service-oriented attitude.
- Ability to work in shifts and handle customer rush hours.
Experience:
- Fresher or 1–3 years of experience in retail or counter sales (preferred).
