A Purchase Executive is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and procuring materials, products, and services required for smooth business operations. The role focuses on cost control, vendor management, timely procurement, and maintaining quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify, evaluate, and finalize suppliers based on price, quality, and delivery timelines.
- Raise purchase requisitions, prepare purchase orders, and follow up for timely deliveries.
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and contracts with vendors.
- Maintain proper records of purchases, invoices, and supplier documentation.
- Coordinate with stores, production, and accounts departments to ensure material availability.
- Monitor inventory levels and plan procurement to avoid shortages or excess stock.
- Ensure purchased materials meet required quality standards.
- Handle vendor queries, complaints, and return of rejected materials.
- Support audits by maintaining accurate purchase and compliance records.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Business Administration, Supply Chain, or related field.
- Knowledge of procurement processes and vendor management.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with ERP or purchase software.
- Good analytical and documentation abilities.
Experience:
- 1–5 years of experience in purchase or procurement roles (preferred).
