An Agricultural Field Operator is responsible for carrying out day-to-day farming and field activities to support crop production and agricultural operations. The role involves operating farm equipment, assisting in planting and harvesting, and maintaining fields to ensure healthy crop growth and optimal yield.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain agricultural machinery and tools used for ploughing, sowing, irrigation, spraying, and harvesting.
- Assist in land preparation, planting, fertilization, and crop care activities.
- Monitor crop growth and report issues related to pests, diseases, or irrigation.
- Apply fertilizers, pesticides, and herbicides safely as per guidelines.
- Maintain irrigation systems and ensure proper water management.
- Keep fields, tools, and equipment clean and in good working condition.
- Follow safety, environmental, and farm operation standards.
- Support supervisors and farm managers in daily agricultural tasks.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Basic knowledge of farming practices and crop cultivation.
- Ability to operate farm machinery (tractor, sprayer, pump sets, etc.).
- Physically fit and capable of working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Willingness to learn modern agricultural techniques.
- Basic understanding of safety procedures in farm operations.
Experience:
- Fresher or 1–3 years of experience in agricultural field work (preferred).
